Meckow Signs Deal With West African Road-Building Company
1st August 2008
We have recently signed a deal with a start-up company in West Africa for a Parker Plant Asphalt Plant and a Parker plant Crushing and Screening System.
We were first approached by this company in July 2007. They were starting a new business venture as a branch of an existing civil construction company wanting to broaden their expertise to road construction.
Together, we looked at what government tenders they wanted to secure and what plant they would need in order to fulfill these contracts. We advised them to buy mobile equipment and matched the asphalt plant to the crushing and screening plant. With regards to the crushing and screening requirements, we also had to take into consideration that there was an additional requirement of aggregates concrete production.
Following our recommendations, the company then tendered for a number of government funded projects. On being awarded their first project, they contacted us again and a contract was signed in April 2008. They have bought a Parker M1500 120 tph Asphalt Plant with a four bin feeder, a drying section, a mixing section, primary and secondary dust collection, a bitumen system and a control cabin. The Crushing and Screening System they have bought consists of a Parker RE0850 Rockranger, a Parker SA1544 Screenranger and a Parker CA900E Coneranger.
